Holli4's Straight Razor Page

About My Page

I AM NOT CURRENTLY SELLING RAZORS ON THIS WEBSITE. RAZORS MAY APPEAR ON THE SRP.COM CLASSIFIEDS.

Welcome to my straight razor page.  This site severs several different purposes, and will continue to grow as I have more time to add information and as I do more razor related things.  Currently, the main purposes of this webpage are:

**Sales –  I sell straight razors, razor related items, and sometimes items from my other hobbies.  Prices on razors include “Standard Shipping” as described under Shipping and Payment, unless otherwise stated.  Items for sale can be found by category in the menu bar on the left side of the page.

**Services – I offer honing services for a fee.  I will either hone a razor to be fully shave ready OR just set the bevel.  You can find details by clicking “Services” on the menu bar on the left side of the page.

**Informational – Sections with information about how to contact me, how to buy, shipping policies, as well as razor related information can be found in the menu bar across the top of the page

If you are interested in buying anything, hiring me for honing services, or want to get in touch with me for any reason, you can contact me via email at holli4pirating@gmail.com or post a comment on my blog.  You can also find me under the username holli4pirating on Straight Razor Place.  I also hang out in the SRP IRC chat (#srp), where my nick is holli4.  I’m not always actively looking at the chat, but if you type a message with my full nick (holli4) or send me a private message, it will make a noise on my computer and I’ll come talk to you.

    Hello,

It’s Earl. Is that Bengal still for sale?

    • She was, but now she’s yours. Anything in the “Razors for Sale” area is always up for sale, though I’ve not decided how to handle any razors that may be pending sale yet. Something for me to think about. Once sold, I try to move razors promptly to to the sold category.

    Hi, its Ralfy off SRP
Just a quick hello, I like your website, and the prices of your razors are very very reasonable IMHO.
    Best wishes
    Ralfy
Oh Yeah, are you going to post any razors than you have restored on here?

    • Thanks for your comments, Ralfy. I’m still working on the site, but I’m planning to add sections with upcoming razors, my own razors, more about the hones that I use, and information about the brush/scuttle/soaps/creams that I use for my own shaving. I may also include basic shaving and razor care information, but I believe that is covered so well on the forum that I may simply link to specific posts, threads, or areas of the wiki.

  3. Holli4pirating: Hi; enjoy the site and your posts on SRP. I think I need a Wade and Butcher for …well for many reasons none of which will cause planitary realignment. You have one for sale. Whatdyathink. I’m mostly there; push me.
    Jim

    • Hey Jim. Thanks for stopping by, and I’m glad you like the site and enjoy my posts on the forum. I don’t like to push my razors, but I think that if a razor speaks to you and you can afford it, you should have it. I’ll leave it at that.

Oh Man! That Wedge is gone :) No biggy, I’ve got my eye on a different one you have listed now – I’m not saying which though, I’d hate for it to get bought right now as well.

Just want to stop by and say hi. Site is coming along nicely. Keep it up little brother!

And my last comment hopefully! Are any of these wedges still available? Looks like there is 4 of them on the bottom right portion of the circle, Thanks again

Nice website mang!! Good luck with it. I already am tempted by that Wosty Conqueror…(my Ese-es PTSD I guess) :-)
Hope you have a happy and healthy holiday season and New Year.

    • Hey Nate! Thanks for taking the time to take a look, and I appreciate the positive feedback. Let me know when you’re ready for that Wosty ;-)

Best wishes to you and yours for the holiday and the new year.

OK, I read your posts on SRP in the tobacco thread. I use a 1912 BBB billard and am interested in your not for profit tobacco
samples. I like Fox ‘n Hounds, Carter Hall, 1/2 & 1/2, PA and WO Larsen 80 but don’t care for Squadron Leader.

    Thanks

Great site and very reasonable prices. The enlarged pics show a lot of detail and help a lot in evaluating the razors. Hope to snag a few in the future. Thanks!

    • Hi Roel. Thanks for the feedback and the kind words. Your best bet for now is just to keep an eye on the Razors for Sale section. You can check back often or use an RSS reader (like Google Reader) to track updates. I also have a thread on StraightRazorPlace.com where I post whenever I add new items for sale.

love the site.. want to send u some razors soon.. very interested in learning ur craft..

    • John, thanks very much for the positive feedback. Please feel free to email me if you are interested in sending me some razors to work on. I do hope you decide to learn more about straights. In my humble opinion, they are the only way to shave, and also a very enjoyable hobby.

I was linked here from SRP. I was curious which of your razors would you recommend for a first straight edge razor on a budget?

    Hey Lawson Stone here
I just posted a little note on a semi-private blog of guys in my town who are wet-shaving enthusiasts. Most are DE shavers, but several are interested in straights, so I posted a link to your site with a word of recommendation about your good work and good prices. I hope to send a little business your way!

I looked on the straight razor place, and saw your dovo ivory mararta, and the sheffield english steel razor. of the two which one would you recommend for a first time user, as well as which one is the better blade of the two.

    Sincelely,

    Spencer Patton

    • For a first time user, I’d recommend the Sheffield “English Steel,” simply because it is so much less expensive. It’s less of a risk in case something happens to the blade or you decide straight razor shaving isn’t for you. I’ll contact you via email, as well, in case you don’t check back here.

I was given a bunch of straight razors from a friend and am trying to find out what they are worth as well as see if you would be able to restore some of them and how much you would charge to restore them. im trying to figure out how to let you know what they are and what kind of shape they are in. would it be advatagious to just send them to you and then let you tell me what you feel the need. I was Also woundering if you got my message to hold the dovo Ivory Mararta for me?

    • Spencer,
Sure, I’d be happy to take a look at the razors and see if I could restore them for you. It would probably be best to, as you said, send them over so I can take a look in person.
Also, I did get the message about the Micarta. I tried emailing the address you posted from, but have only gotten spam messages back.
Why don’t you drop me an email at holli4pirating@gmail.com so we can work things out.
      Dylan

  19. Spencer Patton said

Hey Dylan please send me your info again and lets see if i can send you the razors again as well as your paypal account info so we can get things back on track.

    Hi
i was asking for some advice on how to make a set of scales for a razor that needs some scales. IN other words what do you do first in regard to the razor messurements and then how do you shape the scales to the razors messurements. I also want to have you hone two razors for me that i purchased cheep from some friends of mine. im sorry for not making myself clear in my post on SRP.

hope things are going well for you

    spencer

  21. Found your site after trying to figure out what a Dragon’s Tongue is. Do you make scales?

    • I do make scales, but at the moment I’m only doing rather basic stuff. Flat sided acrylic with beveled edges. If you’re interested in something, drop me an email.
